Seems like someone got it working, but there's no release.

Hello there,

My team will be meeting tomorrow to discuss our initial port of CAS. We are unsure about whether we can help to maintain it for the future.

We have every interest in releasing our CAS port and will update here once we are able to do so.

Just thought I would point out the port has been completed and is available at https://github.com/backdrop-contrib/cas so this can be closed. Thanks to @rbargerhuff for getting that done!
