TBD: New field type for "slug selection"

In my opinion it would be great to allow the user the selection of existing slugs like, for example, a contenttype called "pages". So the path may be autofilled and the user no longer has to remember the path itself. This may be possible using a new field type like "slug" or "slugselect"? What do you think about this?

Is the usecase that a use does not need to know the CT slug? if so how would one add a menu item not belonging to that CT? or would that be disallowed?

My goal is just to make the "selection" easier, just to make it possible for the user to select a preconfigured entity of a content type without really knowing or understanding the concept of slugs or content types at all. We have many customers that have problems or expire the "menu management" as too difficult to understand. This is why I am thinking about solutions to make this easier for them.
