Add avro schema registry support

I also would like to use this project with the schema registry. Is there a a starting point for conceptualizing what is necessary for making it happen?

@ehrlichja no investigation in that direction was done yet, i'm currently pretty busy with other stuff, can come back to this after a couple of weeks, happy to get some help from the community.
