Sorting doesn't sort by English name

Open Coded-Message opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Sorting seems to be incorrect in English when switching to romaji sort order is correct

I have a few shows all with the same starting letters in English and they get broken up by a show with a completely different name. I found that the show that was separated from the group and was at the bottom of my list started with a W instead of an R in romaji and was being sorted as such in English.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'watching list'
  2. Set a few shows sharing an english title with the same starting letter in english and a few others with any name.
  3. Confirm one show matching the pattern has a different starting letter in romaji and set language to English.
  4. You should now see the sort doesn't line up in english even with the same starting letter.

Expected behavior

All shows with the same starting letter should be sorted into a block when sort is set to alphabetical based on the set language.

I'm aware of this, but the MyAnimeList API only allows sorting by the romaji title so for now it's not possible to fix this
