Adding support for unsupported device

Open DoctorBanner opened this issue 4 years ago • 9 comments

Hi, I've got an unsupported device and I'm interested in helping to develop support for it.

Does anybody have any hints for what I should do?

I will try to look at the source and figure it out for myself in the meantime.

I'm really just hoping that somebody has some good advice so that I don't have to reinvent the wheel here.

Thank you for all of the hard work.

apparantly awhile ago according to reddit ipad 2,1 got added but when i try and run it, it says device is not supported. No one seems to be adding A5 support for any checkm8 exploit and I currently need it so I can fix my ipad

Hi All, I've come across this which supports S5L8940X, S5L8942X and S5L8945X: https://github.com/a1exdandy/checkm8-a5

Only trouble is it requires an Arduino...

Anyone here understand both python and C/C++ and wouldn't mind reviewing the above then making a few tweaks to this project if possible to increase support?

I'm not great with C/C++ otherwise I would have made the modifications to checkm8.py etc myself.

Just trying to help by bringing some attention to the above to save someone some time reinventing the wheel.

Cheers,
