Issue: auto refresh problem

When i click on app icon and start searching for an app after search result comes the app list gets refreshed and shows all apps. I have to type more to get the search result again. It is annoying and time consuming. Its even more annoying when i click on an app in search result and it gets refreshed and i click on wrong app and its opens. I have a lot of apps installed and my phone doesnt have high processing power. Thats why its happening i guess. The solution could be auto refresh apps in app list in background instead of when clicking on the app menu icon. Another way is to add an option to turn on or off refresh to auto and manual. Im talking about all app list not recent apps in dock.
