@xalioth still an issue for e.g. C/2022 E3 (see also #172 ) this feels like development is stalling?

[ssystem_minor.ini.txt](https://github.com/Stellarium/stellarium/files/13888949/ssystem_minor.ini.txt) that could explain it, even if it's conceptually not OK. in such a case, **at least a warning should be issued** for the missing objects. the user should be...

Looks like those comets _are_ present in my ssystem file. except `C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS)`

Same issue here (v23.4) with two landscapes that used to work on 0.22 polygons work, but panoramic picture does not appear. ## Workaround **when toggling transparency on and then off,...

Another tool that could be used in validating the results are the ephemerides from JPL's [HORIZONS](https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/?horizons).

I've compared the data in 0.20.4 with [HORIZON](https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=ceres;orb=0;cov=0;log=0;cad=0#elem): ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/3529789/103533657-cbb62800-4e8d-11eb-96d6-91283ef50e07.png) maybe this seems to explain the differences? there is also https://www.minorplanetcenter.net/db_search/show_object?object_id=1; but apparently, there is no equivalent data URL for these...

( but I just noticed that the OP used 0.12.4 ! )
