I can't mix markers

I cannot get * combined with _ for instance. Whether it's _*test*_ or *_test_* I get it like that:

Is this expected?

I can replicate this, even with the italics "/" marker. But I think this is a bug with normal org-mode and not org-appear, as I get the same result if org-appear is disabled.

However I did notice that the unhiding from org-appear does seem to be slightly bugged, as the outer marker is only unhidden, if the cursor is at the very edge of the word. But this could just be an aftereffect of the bug in org-mode.
