Java: Ensure automated CI checks compile java sources

A drive-by contributor fixed a merge conflict https://github.com/awsdocs/aws-doc-sdk-examples/pull/6027

CI tooling should have caught this. @scmacdon please confirm all java code is going through javac before the actions mark it as "passed".
