Tell us about your request We are announcing developer preview for EMR on EKS controller. You can see this tutorial for getting started. The controller will allow you to define Spark jobs as Kubernetes custom resources and manage these resources using kubectl. We will use this issue to track customer requests and feedback. Thank you!

Which service(s) is this request for? EMR on EKS

Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard? Customers have told us that they like the declarative way of managing resources on EKS clusters. Using ACK service controller for EMR on EKS, customers will have the ability to define and run EMR jobs directly from their Kubernetes clusters. EMR on EKS manages the lifecycle of these jobs and it is 3.5 times faster than open-source Spark because it uses highly optimized EMR runtime
