Support for Prometheus histogram metrics

The CloudWatch agent can scrape only counter, gauge, and summary metrics from Prometheus.

According to the documentation, the support for histogram metrics was planned:

Support for histogram metrics is planned for an upcoming release.

Is this plan still relevant? Can we expect the support of histogram metrics in the foreseen future?

The CloudWatch agent can scrape histogram metrics from Prometheus.

Describe alternatives you've considered

A self-hosted Grafana is an alternative solution. But it's not handy when ECS telemetry and Prometheus metrics need to be visualized together.
