Downloading non-latest version

Open paololazzari opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

I'm working on a versioned build, therefore I don't want to be downloading the "latest".

All of the instructions only show how to download the latest from S3. How can I download non-latest versions from S3?

Hey Paolo, I'm a little confused by the question. You said you're "working on a versioned build", so wouldn't you be creating your own build artifacts? Which version of the agent are you looking for/why? As a best practice, we don't encourage installing and using older versions of the agent.

I'm building a virtual machine with Packer. For all of the other software that I am installing, I am using versioned artefacts so that the build will be reproducible going forward. I would like to do the same for the cloudwatch agent

Hey Paolo, thanks for explaining your use case. As a general best practice, we recommend that customers update the Amazon CloudWatch agent to the latest version. I understand why you would want to pin to specific versions for your VM image builds, however we think that the best customer experience for you is to continue to use the latest version of the agent as we perform releases.
