Custom audio input source / audio input filter

Open e-nouri opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

Is it possible to have a custom audio input source instead of the mic straight away ? To elaborate more I want to add some audio effect on the mic, for example choose a filter like Batman or Peter Griffin voice. Is that possible with the current code base ?

PS: I don't want to alter the SDK code, to keep it possible to update it later on. I am already using Chime SDK with react native for iOS and android.

Hi @e-nouri,

This is currently not possible with our SDK. We will consider this as a feature request and update this issue once we have more information regarding this feature.

Hi @zhinang-amazon ,

Is there any development on this feature?

Hi, We are currently working on a project in the underlying media dependencies that would make this feature possible. The direction we are going is to enable custom audio source similar to the existing custom video source to allow processing before sending to the server side. While we are unlikely to provide any out of the box filter at first, it should give builders the ability to add processing steps. We will keep this issue updated once we are closer to releasing that.
