[Feature Request] Provide x86-compatible SDK builds
Hello,
Current Chime SDK builds do not provide native binaries for running on x86 emulators (only ARM 32/64-bit). It is a bottleneck for some of our developers, since they need to use a native device or an ARM emulator to test a video call.
Is it possible to provide x86-compatible debug builds (debug-only)?
Thanks for opening issue. I have added feature-request label. We'll see what we can do.
Is there any update on this issue?
Hi apologies that our team is currently not working on this feature request. Do you mind sharing some more context on why this is crucial to you? One scenario I can think of is when a user encounters issues that only affect x86 architecture. Before we can provide x86 emulator support, a workaround would be using a virtual device testing service, such as AWS Device Farm.
Yes, I can but it's not for emulators but for hardware. This crucial because of the case of embedded systems or kiosks than are running Android on Intel architecture.
@zhinang-amazon Should I open a new issue for this?
Hi @djensen47, Thanks for the interest in x86 support. I request that you submit a support case in AWS console with details of your use case(s) to provide us with data for the feature request.
