Block Editor not obeying the "default_term" property of a custom taxonomy

Expected Behavior

When using Block Editor, the "Default Event Calendar" should work

Current Behavior

The default calendar does not automatically assign when adding a new event inside the Block Editor

Steps to Reproduce

1. Install Sugar Calendar
2. Enable "Block Editor" as the default in Settings > Editing and assign a default calendar
3. Add a new event and check if the calendar is assigned in the Block Editor
