XML Sitemap - Images added through WPBakery Page Builder are not included

If images are added through the WPBakery Visual Composer editor (or other inbuilt editor) the XML sitemap show a count of 0 images for that page.

I have confirmed that if an image is added using the WPBakery Page Builder then we don't include it in our XML Sitemap. This is due to the way that WPBakery's elements work. If you look at the code output by WPBakery in the WordPress Text Editor then all you see is a shortcode with no image URL. Here's an example:

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="5"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

I don't believe there's anything we can do about this, it's a WPBakery issue. However, we should look into whether there's anything we can do to support images added using WPBakery.

I have a BackupBuddy backup of a WP Bakery site on my MacBook.

@wpsmort do you have a copy of WPBakery or are you able to reach out to them and ask for one? I checked but couldn't find a contact form or e-mail address on their website.

I've emailed the WPBakery team to ask for a copy.

I now have a copy of WPBakery.

@wpsmort when you have some time, can you check if this is still an issue?

@arnaudbroes Yes, this is still an issue.
