CleanURLs
An altrenative to ClearURLs.
The reason for creating this software, is to avoid the unjust suppression and "regulations of extension "appstores".

Sup I tested it didn't work for example
https://amazon.com/product?ref=tracker123&tag=affiliate567 became https://www.amazon.com/product?tag=affiliate567
Query "tag" is disabled in the code, as it is mostly essential.
'__switch_theme', // theanarchistlibrary.org
// 'tag', // id
'tags', // blasta
I will add an option to add custom parameters; and
I consider to enhance the mechanism to be more specific, by adding conditions.
Does the one you stole the idea from strip it too though (if not then it can be considered "awesome" for being a port) also is there any benefit besides being port
I have never installed ClearURLs. I use Falkon and Otter Browsers.
I have discovered ClearURLs after a reporter has told me of it.
I did take the idea of link extraction from ClearURLs.
These are the benefits.
-
It does not have a statistics dialogue, even though I consider to add such, as an option.
-
It has smaller memory and power consumption.
-
The interface is nicer, as a traffic light, not multiple squares the appear at different places.
-
It can be installed with any software which has Greasemonkey, including Falkon, Otter Browser, Pale Moon, QuteBrowser, and others which do not support the useless "webextension" system.
-
And perhaps best of all, it is censorship resistant, because, unlike ClearURLs which is subjected to bogus "appstore" or "webstore" regulations and restrictions, CleanURLs can be installed freely, and it can not be censored as it is a one file and simple ECMAScript script.
