This is still a bug in the dependency, but I have a work around working in another version of the plugin I'm working on. Will try to get it back...
Was working on this the other day. Still working on a fix.
I'll see what I can find, but the error doesn't match the resolution. I would expect, in this case, a 500 thrown by livewire and not by a filament class....
Can you provide a screenshot or video of what you are encountering? I don't fully understand your explanation.

Should this be on dehydration instead? I'm worried that doing it on stateUpdate will break if the user accidentally deletes the image and then restores it with the undo.
Haven't forgotten about this, I'm just still not sure it's a plug-in responsibility. Just seems more like an app responsibility.
