After I upgrade to macOS Tahoe, the app doesn't show lyrics anymore😢

Are you using Apple Music? There is a bug where it only works on Apple Music with songs in your library. I filed a report with Apple and they'll fix it in the next update :-( it's an AppleScript bug

If you are the person who messaged me on Reddit asking if you can update safely- I apologize for misguiding you. I completely forgot about this bug (and truthfully thought that apple would have fixed this in the final Tahoe release).

Yes I use Apple Music and I can confirm playing library songs works fine😅 I'm not the reddit guy but I hope it's not too late to warn the dude🥲

Btw I also find a bug with the volume slider. After setting the volume percentage using the slider, the percentage changes when I click to open the menubar window again. Not sure whether it's a Tahoe bug or not though...

Glad to report applescript support works on the tahoe beta 26.1... aside from album art :( at least the lyrics show up...

Have found a workaround but it's very hacky. Hoping Apple fixes this bug by the time tahoe 26.1 rolls around. Till then the workaround version (using https://github.com/ejbills/mediaremote-adapter) is attached here.

Lyric Fever.zip

Any chance you can mainline that workaround for the time being? Not only I can only install through Homebrew (work system) but it's also missing the latest Spotify login fix.

That's odd, brew should've automatically picked up the latest 3.2 update. That contains the spotify fix as well as the workaround.

https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/pull/231803 yeah it's on brew, please update to 3.2. That includes the temporary album art fix.

I am on 3.2.

Is there anything else I should be doing, or any information I can provide you to help debug?

Are you having trouble logging into your Spotify account? Are you having trouble using Lyric Fever with non-library songs on Apple Music? What macOS version are you on? I need details! :-)

aviwad avatar Oct 14 '25 03:10 aviwad

Logging into Spotify is working fine.

I'm having issues using Lyric Fever even on library songs! This is on Mac OS 26.0.1. Sometimes it start working, then it stops again, can't really figure out why.

Ah. Yeah in the previous message I stated that AppleScript support for Apple Music has gotteng better on the 26.1 beta :( You'll have to wait. My bug fix was only wrt to displaying album art.

aviwad avatar Oct 14 '25 03:10 aviwad

Ah I see. I might update to the beta for the time-being then! Thank you again.

luisbc92 avatar Oct 14 '25 03:10 luisbc92

Ok i've improved the workaround to work as well as it used to on macOS 15. Update coming in a week :)
