Bug: Impossible to stop auto-refresh

I have loaded 20,000 pointers and enabled auto-refresh. If I try to stop the auto refresh by unchecking the option, it still continues to try to refresh the rest until it reaches 100% and then it restarts the refresh. Also resizing the window at the time it processes has a visual issue:

Note that I deleted a few entries from the list and and then could resize properly but there seem to be a very long re-rendering process (waiting over 10 minutes, still not finished): 0WrNRTk

Update: the auto-refresh did stop, it just did 2 cycles which took a lot of time. The rendering on resizing or deleting entries is still an issue and if there is a way to speed up the auto-refresh, especially for when there are many entries it would be great.
