phone reboots during backup (can't use with large sized apps)
I started backing up a long list of apps via screen.
ssh connection is dropped, springboard has crashed and never returns to lockscreen.
I believe this is due to high cpu usage to which iOS tries to respond with respringing.
The next time I'll run with nice (now I can't even touch it until it finishes, ssh connections are rejected, it only replies to ping) but maybe there could be some improvement in the ipainstaller itself?
oh, it eventually rebooted. trying again, let's see if nice makes a difference.
ok, better, no more watchdog timeouts, resprings and reboots. I hope I'll remember to run it with nice -n 19 next time.
a second run caused ios to restart springboard when backing up a large app + data (200Mb size) even with nice -n 19. then it rebooted in the middle of running. I've got no other idea what to do.
@autopear what would you suggest? Can you optimize some things? at first ipainstaller looked like a great tool, but these problems keep me from actually being able to use it.
perhaps you could implement a smarter less memory-intensive compression method? this seems to also be an issue:
