Middle-click links doesn't work

Tested in Google. I middle-click links 1 and 2. 2 needs to be right next to current tab, instead the default FF behavior happens - 1 is next to current tab, 2 is to the right of it.

This is not responding to middle click, nor to "Open in new tab" context menu, I was using https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/open-tabs-next-to-current/gmpnnmonpnnmnhpdldahlekfofigiffh?hl=en, which had worked wonders or years, but it got deprecated because of MV3, maybe this would be useful to check the source
