Feature request: Marque zoom facility to zoom a selected area

Would it be possible to include a marque zoom facility (used in pdf and CAD drawing packages) to zoom a selected area. This would be particularly useful when manually adjusting points after the automatic point extraction. When your workflow means you want to zoom out of the graph to check for a point to be adjusted then zoom in to do the adjustment.
