getDelegationToken in v7 but not in v8

This sample works perfectly, using auth0-cordova instead of auth0-lock which had many issues in Ionic. However I am struggling with my next step which is authenticating with Firebase using getDelegationToken as this function is no longer available.

Please can someone advise on an alternative method of how this can be achieved.
