Control simulation through streetscape.gl

Hey, I would like to know if streetscape.gl and the xviz protocol could be used to not only reproduce the log from a simulation but also control the simulation.

For instance, we would have a simulation running (e.g. CARLA) and live streaming data, converting to xviz and then visualized with streetscape.gl. Could I have key inputs in the streetscape.gl app to control the vehicle? For instance with inputs as throttle and steering, so that it sends that data to the simulator and modifies its state.
