Missing launcher icon and app indicator

Open Ghoelian opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

When installing the package from Flathub, the application shows up fine but without an icon.

I'm also not seeing the tray icon, but I'm not sure if that's related to this. Waybar's tray is still in beta so maybe it's a bug there.

Other apps installed through flatpak, like Discord and Spotify, don't have any of these issues.

Using Fedora 39 Sway under Wayland.

Hi @Ghoelian, I am using this extension for gnome and it works fine - not great. In this tool there is the option "enable legacy tray icon support". When I disable this the icon disappears. So I guess you'll need this support in your extension.

Having the same issue under wayland (both sway and hyprland) with the Flatpak version only (AUR build works fine). This is especially annoying considering that closing the main application window doesn't stop the application, it "minimizes to tray" instead (a behavior that doesn't seem configurable unfortunately) so without a tray icon I'm left having to pkill deezer-desktop in a terminal to actually close the app.

FWIW I noticed that adding org.kde.StatusNotifierWatcher in Flatseal under Session Bus -> Talks allowed the tray icon to appear. The actual icon image is incorrect (it doesn't seem to load properly) and the menu entries related to multimedia controls don't do anything, but at least the "Open Deezer" and "Quit Deezer" entries work and allow me to work around this issue.
