I've found the original content at the Internet Archive.

The earliest version at the archive is the most pristine. Most of the newer snapshots are missing images. http://web.archive.org/web/20120208174804/http://www.netmagazine.com/features/create-perfect-favicon.

Furthermore, this page still exists on the regular Internet. http://www.creativebloq.com/illustrator/create-perfect-favicon-12112760. This version however has many technical issues that may prevent it from being useful. Most of the images fail to load and there are several third-party sharing plugins that lock up the page (Probably from non-async script tags).

I just reviewed [http://www.creativebloq.com/illustrator/create-perfect-favicon-12112760], But I'm not able to reproduce issues you mentioned ( @infomaniac50 ). I think its better to commit new link (under creativebloq) to update cheat-sheet.
