Save on demand

I would like to see a way to save on demand...the default save buffer is 15 seconds. Sometimes I want to just save without waiting for the timer so I can exit or switch to a different database. If I could do this I would change the buffer up to several minutes and treat it as a failsafe rather than my main method of saving the DB. You don't even need new UI, just support (CTRL + S) !
