Regex search cannot replace ^ or $

I use this constantly in other editors for adding things at the beginning or end of lines, but in Chocolat, trying to replace ^ with 'foo' does nothing.

$ still does not match the end of a line for replacement.

This is giving me trouble all the time. Would be great to get it fixed.
