Colors lost with pager (less)

csvdiff a.csv b.csv --format color-words works as expected, but paging the output with less -r or less -R does not color the differences.

Does csvdiff use color codes not recognized by less, or is there another recommended pager?

Even piping through head loses the colors. :-(
