Individual check-image-model-fitting/check-image-residual per model

Open louisquilley opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

Hello, as we are using the model-fitting options of this software to do disk+bulge decomposition of galaxies, we usually fit multiple models to one image. Currently the check-image-model-fitting returns one image with all models superposed. We would like to have separate images for each model, and also the corresponding residual images where only one model has been subtracted from the data. This option existed in the previous software SExtractor but I can't find it on Sourcextractor++. Am I missing it ? If not, could it be implemented ?

Thank you for your help.

Louis

You're right, we don't have this option currently. Maybe something to be considered for a future development.

Until the - you do have the fitting parameters, so it should be possible to generate them from those.

@mkuemmel I'm not sure what you mean Martin. It's certainly possible in principle, but the code as it is won't allow us to, so a development is needed.

Sure, I am aware that SE++ can't do it right now, but the user (--> @louisquilley ) can do it, in principle. All necessary information is available.

Thank you for your answers. I agree that the fit parameters contain all information needed to recreate these images. I should be able to manage until the feature is added.
