I think astropy/imageutils has stalled 2 years ago. Should we really move functionality there?

@MSeifert04 - Imageutils has been moved to astropy core as far as I know, and should be used for anything at al. Maybe the repo should be removed, or flagged as so? cc @astrofrog

@crawfordsm, what's the status on this issue with regards to combiner? Just sanity checking that it's staying put in ccdproc for now...

Yep, the intent is for it to stay for the foreseeable future.
