j94f05bgq_flt.fits.gz is not pristine

Open pllim opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

j94f05bgq_flt.fits.gz file in this repo used with the FITS tutorial is not pristine. That is, it already has the modifications that were supposed to be added during the tutorial itself. Not a deal breaker but not pretty.

For a future workshop, someone should recover the pristine version, if possible.

Some follow-up info: This looks like a heavily modified calibrated HST/ACS image, so I cannot simply re-request it from MAST. The history said @kelle added the original copy of the modified version on this repo, so maybe she can clarify or provide a pristine copy.

Sorry, I have no recollection of working on this nor can I find any relevant files. :(

Maybe this issue will solve itself when FITS and Table tutorials are combined (see #146), rendering this file unnecessary, and thus can be removed from repo entirely.

As I recall, one of the notebooks modifies this file and writes it back out to the same filename. It has been accidentally committed to the repository, more than once.
