Astropy Coordination Meeting 2026 (¡Quinceñera!)
Relevant notes from 2025 meeting -- The retrospective notes might help, maybe.
Dates to AVOID:
- June 15-19, 2026 (“cool stars”)
- June 14-18, 2026 (248th AAS Meeting, Pasadena, CA)
- July 4, 2026 (USA Independence Day -- short week, increased cost)
- July 5-10, 2026 (SPIE Astronomical Telescopes + Instrumentation, Copenhagen, DK)
Possible locations (preferably outside USA):
- Tenerife, Spain
- Heidelberg, Germany ("astronomy house" on MPIA campus)
- Manchester, UK (with SKAO at Jodrell Bank Observatory)

Just for the record, I have been in touch with folk at SKAO HQ at Jodrell Bank and they have also expressed interest in hosting it. I have more details which I will send privately to the CoCo for now.
@hpparvi do you have location and travel details for the Tenerife meeting location (I suppose it will be flight into TFS and then proceed from Santa Cruz)?
The meeting would be in La Laguna, which can be reached from either the northern or southern airports (TFN and TFS). TFN is just next to La Laguna, so this would be easier, but there are fewer international flights to TFN than to TFS.
