astropy-project Work on translation of docs

How can we get our docs translated?

Related issues: astropy/#8618, astropy/#7178. We've also gotten emails about Chinese.

@bsipocz, can you post here about the numpy effort you mentioned?

I don't know about much the details, their community calls are on Wednesdays I'm sure we can join for those. I'm happy to reach out if needed, but it might be better for one of the named documentation infrastructure people to do it.

This was discussed briefly in Socorro - the decision was to wait a little to see what is done by e.g. Numpy as part of the CZI as mentioned by @bsipocz above.

Numpy has weekly (maybe now switched to biweekly) dev telecons. I am happy to try and call into one of those in the new year, or follow-up with them in an email.
