About the result image with my own single input-image

Hi，thanks for making your great work available to everyone. maybe I cant comprehend this method clearly，so i‘m very puzzled :

1. I follow your readme，and test a my own single image， but the result shows a all white image。I didn't modify anywhere，why i cant received a correct image？
2. why need a kernel image？a real image e.g. getting from my phone album，if I train any images which I want ，the kernel is also necessary？
