Feature Suggestion: Whitelist

Would it be possible to read the existing whitelist.txt and only allow those people to download the mod pack? It isn't currently an issue, but I was thinking this would be nice to keep people from ddos-ing the server by downloading the pack. Also, I don't want to waste my bandwidth on people who can't play anyway :)

Not really - authentication is currently done AFTER downloading the mods, but swapping the order could actually improve a lot of situations...

I'll consider it.

Okay, partially fixed in -rc1 (server sends the information whether it has a whitelist or not to the serverlist). It WON'T be fixed further until I add an autoupdating launcher on the client side, though. Not worth the trouble for users.
