Multiple Palettes in one File

Open transcendtient opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

It would be amazing if I could load multiple palettes in one file. The example I'm thinking of is I have multiple different people sprites. Those people have a set skin palette, a palette related to their clothes, and a palette related to their hair.

So my idea is that the separate palettes are grouped. Indexing colors would be 2:1 instead of 1:1 as it is now. If you change a color in the skin palette it would only affect indexed colors tagged from the skin palette.

The background color would probably also be separate as you couldn't have multiple background colors.

Aseprite and System version

Hi there @transcendtient, I'm not sure but it might be related to these features: #1067, #1731, #1575, #593. If I understand correctly you are looking for a way to paste external indexed sprites in a bigger sprite and associate different palettes to each instance.

Maybe related as you said there's support internally for multiple palettes but no UI for it.
