AsciidocFX_Mac.dmg install fails on macOS Big Sur

Installation of AsciidocFX 1.7.4 fails with the message

“AsciidocFX Installer” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

Starting the installer with CTRL key pressed does not work for me. A possible solution would be signing the app. Only workaround for me would be disabling Gatekeeper during installation.

Side note: Apple can waive developer program fees for eligible organizations.
