Hot Water Climate Control mode does not respect Away Mode
Hello!
When away on holiday, the “Hot Water Climate Control” mode does not respect “Away mode”.
I’ve observed this a couple of times now. Have worked around by turning down the temperature on the climate entity, but it’s not a great solution.
Thanks!
Hi folks, who should I ask to take a look at this, please? It's rather a frustrating bug...
@msp1974 would you mind taking a look please? It looks as though you have some experience with this part of the code!
I have noticed the same. even though Away Mode in the app indicates "turn off hot water" as toggled to on but this does not seem to affect the hot water and it is still on its schedule. Is this a wiser issue and can it be corrected though this integration?
It may have changed recently, I'm not sure as I have moved house and no longer require the hot water entity, but there used to be a switch exposed that was called something like 'Away mode affects hot water' you need(ed) this to be enabled for the hot water to respect away mode.
My observations are that this setting is ignored, sadly.
Hi all, sorry for delay in responding to this. I think we are mixing up 2 things so just want to clarify.
There is a setting for away mode affects hot water but that is a hub setting/function and does work afaik
However, if you are using the hot water climate control, this is a built in automation that uses an external sensor to manage hot water temperature. This is not a wiser function and the hub cannot do this without the integration.
I believe we are talking about the hot water climate function stopping away mode working on hot water and continuing to control it when in away mode and it should stay off. Is that correct?
Hi @msp1974, thanks for pitching in. That's correct - the integration's HW climate function does not respect Wiser's "Away Mode", if "Away mode affects hot water" is enabled. It feels as though it should!
Yes it should. Let me look at that. Give me a few days.
Sorry for delay in looking at this. I think I have fixed it in the dev branch. Expect a release in a week or so with this in.
Thanks @msp1974 - looking forward to it - just in time for the holiday season!
Can confirm the fix does not work, however my HW was keeping temp well enough during most of a recent holiday that the automation did not trigger.
...unless this fix was never released?
@msp1974 Please could I ask when you plan on releasing a new version with this fix integrated?
Soon. You can pull the dev branch if you want to test it.
This is now part of v3.4.17 - just released.
