feat: reducing disk load
In order to reduce hard/solid disk activity. I had a suggestion: We can have the option of only mmap files that can fit into physical ram and change the mapped segments on predefined intervals. For example suppose there is a file A size: 100 and B: 100. Amount of available memory is 50. We first mmap (and effectively share) first 25 segments of A and B. After one hour we drop it and mmap the next 25 segments. After 4 hours we cover all the data we could share. Is this in general possible or feasible?
Yeah, this is actually what rakshasa/libtorrent do by having a pool of mmap-ed chunks.
