Just tried without Docker. I installed natively on Linux (using the generic method). Unfortunately, I got the same behavior. So maybe I'll just create a separate issue for this.
I managed to solve the problem in the end (but forgot to report it here). Though it was completely unrelated to all the things mentioned before (at least for me)....
