On author string pages, include lists for authors cited to and from
That list can easily grow very long, so providing a useful way to filter (e.g. by selecting a substring) would be useful.
The idea here is that people often cite papers of their own, so for something like https://tools.wmflabs.org/author-disambiguator/?fuzzy=0&name=Collins%20WE , citations to or from papers with that string would be expected to bring up some people named Collins as identified authors, which could then serve as another starting point for identifying authors.
I don't have a good picture for what you have in mind here - would the idea be to add identified citing authors/cited authors on each line for an article in the main tables? Or to just add a table at the end after the "Common names in these papers", maybe titled "Common identified citing/cited authors"? Or something else?
The problem I see in cases like "Li Li" is that there are loads of options in the "potential author items" section (some of which have other strings), and being able to filter that list would thus be useful. One way to filter (which should be optional) would be to only display "potential author items" whose strings (or user-selected substrings) appear in P2093 or P50/P1932 statements on papers cited to or from the target list of papers.
Here is an example for part of that functionality:
- https://tools.wmflabs.org/scholia/author/Q104013 currently lists only two papers
- https://tools.wmflabs.org/scholia/author/Q104013/missing lists also "Missing citing author items", including with 11 papers where that author string appears .
