Ah -- very nice! I had only tried a second TAB in cases in which there was only one choice (complete var names -- I was doing it for the doc and didn't realize that the same mechanism was used for completion). In those cases it appears to do nothing, which makes sense since the next choice is the same choice, but there's not feedback showing that anything is happening.
Good point. Maybe I need to show something in the status bar.
All of these key/function choices look good to me, although I think that it'd be good for there to be more clues in the interface about how this works. Maybe in addition to menu items there could be text about this in one of those temporary panes that appear?
That's another good suggestion.
