Wah issue

Open gblogical opened this issue 7 months ago • 4 comments

Hi I’m using pod ui with both pod 2.3 and pod pro. If I manually move the wah slider, the sound is permanently changed even if I put the slider back to 0. Then if I change to another channel preset, the sound is still muffled. The only fix is to turn pod off and then on again and then sound is back to normal

Wow. That's a very weird behavior, I have never seen anything quite like it. Does this also happen when you switch presets on the device itself or only when you do it through the app?

Hi, it happens when I switch presets on the device or in the app. Appreciate the quick reply!

Hi, I think what's happening, is that wah remains 'on' - even though the level slider is to 0. what is probably needed is a wah 'on/off' button

I noticed the same issue with POD 2.0. There is no practical way to turn off the WAH once activated other than power-cycling the POD.

It also happens, when I control the POD via MIDI CC messages. CC 4 is used to control the WAH position e.g. via an expression pedal. Sending any value via CC 4 (including a value of 0) will turn the WAH on and will keep it on regardless what I do on the POD. However, there is another CC message that turns the WAH on and off. Namely CC 43. If CC 43 is sent with any value <= 63 then WAH is switched OFF and sending a CC 43 with a value of >= 64 will switch WAH ON.

In terms of the pod-ui software, I suggest adding a WAH ON/OFF checkbox, or even a WAH OFF button only, since the WAH is already turned on by moving the existing Level slider.
