trashed files are not restorable in Linux

Open Xunius opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

Hi,

I noticed that files deleted by send2trash can not be restored from my file manager. On clicking "restore" it gives the error Could not determine original location of "filename".

My environment:

  • OS: Manjaro Linux
  • file manager:
    • nemo 4.0.6
    • PCManFM 1.3.1
  • python: 3.6.8
  • send2trash: 1.5.0

Havn't tried on other distros or file managers though.

On debian this does not appear to be an issue.

Just tested in Arch Linux, send2trash version 1.7.1 (and python 3.9), and there is no such issue either.

Tried PCManFM 1.3.2, no issue either.

Maybe give more information: where were the files originating from? A network share maybe? etc.
