TAI64

It would be great if Arrow would support to convert from and to TAI64. It’s used a lot in log files and I’d prefer to use only one format.

Interesting! I do see at least one (https://github.com/hinnerk/py-tai64) library that does TAI64 <-> datetime conversions, and the code involved is pretty minimal and straightforward. Will consider for the next (0.5) major release.

That’s awesome! Opens lots of new possibilities for Python to work with DJB’s logs and utils. :) I’d also add it to structlog’s timestamper straight away.

Soooo…0.8 then? :)

This is worth implementing.

@hynek would you be interested in doing this one yourself? By the way your python packaging guide (https://hynek.me/articles/sharing-your-labor-of-love-pypi-quick-and-dirty/) was really useful to me a while ago, it made sense of a really convoluted subject.

I’m glad it's useful to you!

Unfortunately I won't be able to help out here, mostly because I gave up on tai64 after moving from runit to systemd.

Please note that there are some intricacies around UTC and right/UTC: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/294544/where-is-unix-time-official-time-measured/294715#294715
