Members can't change Role

Using raidplaner 1.1.0.c

When I use a member account I can attend with my main character or with a re-roll but I can't select the 2nd role without using a Raidleader account.

It would be better if members could choose the role they want to play.

So you want to choose the role on attend, too, not just char/class. This will not make it into 1.1.1 but maybe 1.1.2 or 1.2.0.

Yes, because currently players can have two roles but can not use the second, unless a raidleader decides to change the role that the player will use.

Maybe you should give the "switch" button to the members because they can already use the arrows to switch between their roles but they can't apply the change.

So when a player attend for a raid his main role is selected by default and then he can decide to switch to his second role, the raidleaders will accept it or not after :)

It actually is/was intended behavior that the raidlead decides which role to take. The main idea here was to enforce a "primary roles first" rule. As with other "why is this restricted" things this rule goes back to the very first version of the raidplaner which only implemented our guild's set of rules.

However - I do see the need for some guilds to be able to change this, so this rule will change. I won't allow it in the raidview (as only raidleads have rights to change anything here) but I will make it an option in the attend tooltip to keep the current workflow intact.

I added a new option "Attend with primary role" in the current trunk build (enabled by default). Uncheck it and you will be able to select the role (or class) of a character after attending a raid. At the moment this works as follows:

• Hover the raid and choose a character (attend the raid)
• The tooltip will now close as the page gets updated (not that easy to remove :/ )
• Hover the raid again and choose your role / class
• If you only have one role or class available nothing will be displayed
• If you have been set up you cannot change your role anymore (the raidlead has to do that)

Please check if this is ok for you. I will do some more polishing on this after your feedback.

Hi Arne saddly, this option works only with setup by raidlead but not with setup by attend (aufstellung bei anmeldung) here your are locked with the primary role. Would be nice to have there this option to. It's a bit annoying to change the role inside the profie for every run when you need a different role.

I have to think about this as the current method does not allow this. There are two possibilities to do this

1. Allow the change of role after a player has been set up
2. Find a different workflow

I probably won't go for option 1 (though it is easier) as a change of role has to put the player back on the bench (otherwise members would become raidleads for themselves). As I'm not 100% confident with the current workflow option 2 is probably the way to go. Will take some time though.

I decided to allow role selection after setup for the modes "just list" and "setup by attend".

While the first one is probably ok. This mode is intended to be used as "we tell you what you will raid just before the raid starts" having a fixed role is not that important and probably more of a "I would like to raid with this role" recommendation.

The second one is more of a temporary solution. If you want to "fixate" your setup simply lock your raid. It is not the most elegant solution so it will most likely change after I made up my mind about a unified character/role selection solution (e.g. cascaded menu).
