Gesture Support

Open MickCrozier opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

I use a Mac. And recently started using my iPad Pro connected via Sidecar with an Apple Pencil to much more fine detailed drawings.

In AP Basic Pencil (any oen for that matter) support is there which is great (would love to be able to pen angle to control brush direction - but that's a whole 'nother thing). My request is about general gestures. Namely becuase when using the iPad I need to revert a secondary means of control in order to rotate and pan. As the normal gestures I'd use arn't recognised on the iPad.

Also - using a trackpad, such as on my MacBook Pro, the gestures are equally not recognised. Which forces me to press down on the trackpad in order to activate rotate and pan. Which is firstly uncomfortable (sue me, I use macs for the comfort lol), but sometimes yields incorrect results, such as painting when I wanted to move.

When using something like Blender ( I know it's another world! ) I can casually use 2 fingers to rotate, 'shift' 2 fingers to pan and pinch to zoom. Perfect - that's what I would love to see.

(I've looked at the code - i can see the key commands and mouse movements - but have no idea how to implement a 'gesture'. If I can get a hint, I'll have crack and submit a pull request)
