manual u-boot update documented?

In forums I read somewhere that u-boot is not written by apt package update but only replaces some files that are needed to update u-boot by hand or using armbian-config. Is this documented somewhere and should it be documented?

It is documented in the debian manpages, does this need adding to armbian documentation also?

It's already documented by upstream debian and ubuntu. man-pages are available. I don't see a reason for armbian to document this on their own for something that is no different from upstream.

Armbian u-boot update is different. We pack binary files and functions for writing to various targets (emm, spi, ...). Look into the .deb file and https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/main/packages/bsp/common/usr/bin/armbian-install
